BiographyI am a freelance writer. Though my main writing focus is on people, places and issues of the Four Corners area, I also write children's books, puppet plays, dramas and puzzles geared for children. During my years working for newspapers, I wrote many articles and won awards from the New Mexico Press Association, New Mexico Press Women, and the New Mexico Medical Society. I also have won awards at writers' conferences for drama and children's fiction. At various times I have been a correspondent for the Albuquerque Journal and the Four Corners Business Journal, newspaper reporter and bureau chief for The Daily Times of Farmington, NM, and managing editor of the Aztec Independent Review. Many my articles have appeared in a variety of magazines from Good Housekeeping, Guideposts and Four Corners Business Journal to Hi-Call, Lifeglow, Majestic Living, and New Mexico Magazine. My four published books of drama include Puppet Scripts by the Month, Puppet Scripts by the Situation, and The Prodigal Son and Other Parables As Plays, all published by Broadman Press, and 25 Puppet Plays about Bible People published by Standard Publishing. Some of my monologs and plays have appeared in collections of works published by Concordia, Standard and Lillenas. After retiring as an elementary school counselor, I devote my time to freelance writing and to doing alternative healing work as a Reiki Master and EFT practitioner. My educational background includes a BA in English, an MA in psychology, counseling and guidance, and a PhD in metaphysics. I enjoy reading, hiking, playing the piano, and table tennis. |
